Illicit arms factory unearthed, 4 nabbed

Chandigarh : The Special Task Force (STF) of the Haryana Police claimed to have unearthed two illicit arms factory in Jind and Jhajjar districts.

Four persons have been arrested in this connection and 35 country made weapons including rifle, pistols, double barrel shotgun, semi furnished arms, cartridges and tools used in making them have been seized.

The accused identified as Deepak alias Golu hails from Hamidpur Delhi, Vinod alias Khema, Dilbagh alias Baba and Sunil alias Angoor, all are residents of Jhajjar, a police spokesman said.

Acting on a strong input, two separate teams conducted raids at Vikas Nagar, Jind and at village Bahrana in Jhajjar and nabbed the accused. Their associate alias Sonu managed to flee, he said.

Cases were registered against the accused and they were being interrogated. Further investigation is in progress and efforts were being made to arrest the fifth accused.
