Haryana considering to reduce power tariff for domestic use: Khattar

Kaithal: Taking into account the fact that Uttar and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam have come into profit, the Haryana government is considering to reduce power tariff for domestic consumers.

“Haryana government is considering to reduce the power tariff of domestic consumers. Since the inception of the state, first time, Uttar and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam have come in profits,” Chief Minister Manohar Lal said while interacting with media persons.

Under Mhara Gaon, Jagmag Gaon scheme, the state government has fixed a target of providing electricity for 18 hours to 24 hours in rural areas. As per rule, power supply had been increased at those feeders that have cut down on line losses as per scheme, he stressed.

In an attempt to use LED bulb at every power point, the state government has purchased 1.30 crore LED bulbs. By August 15, 2018, LED bulbs would be used in all government buildings and would also be provided to general public, he added.

To encourage water conservation, the state government is giving a cash reward of Rs. 1 lakh through public health engineering department to such gram panchayats which are ensuring cent per cent installation of water taps for drinking water supply, he said.

Taking cognizance of complaints regarding recruitment of teachers through private companies he said, corruption in any form would not be tolerated in the state and strict action would be taken against those companies found guilty.
